Liposuction Melbourne

Is liposuction the right fat-loss procedure for you?

Walking past a newspaper and publication stand can be fun for those who are young, slim and trim, but for the people who feel their bodies are imperfect, glancing at the magazine covers and the picture-perfect celebrities they display, only makes them uncomfortable and envious.

No human body is perfect and it does not matter who you ask, everybody has a complaint about their physical appearance. They no longer fit in their old jeans because their belly is too big, or they threw out their summer skirts because they feel their thighs have grown out of proportion. You will hear it all, from “I’m too fat”, “too saggy”, to the senior’s favourite: “I hate my double chin and my wrinkly skin.”

There really is an issue with every body, and even celebrities have their own set of problems to deal with. Why do you think they are always promoting diets, cellulite reduction, body reshaping and skin enhancement solutions? They may be paid generously to do these commercials, but that is quite often not the only reason. Many agents will negotiate body enhancing treatments as part of the compensation package, making the deal worthwhile and their famous clients happy.

There are many reasons why people gain fat and even more reasons why they want to get rid of it. As a result, body sculpting has become one of the trendiest obsessions of the 21st century. Like the thin super stars on those glossy publications, everyone wants tight, young-looking and glowing skin, and absolutely no body fat. That is all fine and dandy, but what is a person supposed to do when strict diets and harsh exercise regimes fail and that wedding dress, bathing suit or tuxedo still does not fit? Is liposuction really the only other alternative?

Liposuction is a surgical procedure in which excess pockets of fatty tissue are removed from troublesome areas such as the upper arms, abdomen, hips and thighs. What kind of liposuction technique will be applied will greatly depend on the ultimate cosmetic goals of the patients, and whether or not it will be combined with other plastic surgery procedures.

Each surgeon has his/her own liposuction techniques, but will still have to follow a few key procedures. An amount of lidocaine, saline, and epinephrine solution needs to be injected under the skin prior to the surgery to flush targeted areas and, during the actual liposuction, a hollow wand-like device called a cannula will have to be inserted through incisions made in the skin to suck out the fat.

Although still extremely popular, liposuction can have adverse side effects. Patients may endure bruising and swelling after the procedure, temporary numbness and discomfort in the surgically treated area, as well as blood clots, infections or allergic reactions. They are the reason why many people shy away from liposuction and prefer cheaper, far less risky, yet equally effective alternative treatments like VelaShape.

Using infrared light energy, massages and vacuuming techniques, this non-surgical treatment erases ugly bulges and cellulite, fatty deposits underneath the skin. The procedure is safe, non invasive, with a rapid recovery time. It is virtually painless and results can usually be detected right after the first session. This means that clients will leave the treatment center satisfied, with increased physical beauty and with a big boost of self-confidence.

As science and technology evolves, more innovative fat extraction or dissolving techniques emerge. In the end, everyone will have to decide for themselves which procedure will be best suited for their body, personality and bank account. Who knows... it may be liposuction, or maybe not!
